Wellness solutions: Mental health and wellbeing initiatives within the logistics sector

Supporting the wellbeing of workers is a priority for us. We’re proud to promote health initiatives for those in road transport, warehousing and logistics through partnerships with organisations like Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (HHTS).

HHTS provides those in the industry with tools and support to help jumpstart important conversations with colleagues. These include free training, accessible user guides and initiatives to foster a thriving workforce.

A key initiative of HHTS is the Road Show, which travels the country to help spread awareness around mental health and wellbeing within the industry. It’s supported by a team of health professionals who are on hand for free health checks, nutritional advice and wellness chats.

RUOK Day

Every year, ESR works with HHTS in support of their annual R U OK? Day in Trucks and Sheds. It’s a day to come together at sites across Australia to understand and tackle the challenges workers face, and to discuss safety, mental wellbeing and physical health.

HHTS is striving to reduce the stigma around reaching out for support and encourage people to seek assistance when needed. The Road Show events are making a real difference by bringing the important tools and conversation directly to the workplace, with many workers saying they now feel more comfortable to discuss health-related topics.

By working together, we can all continue to help make a meaningful impact today so workers continue to thrive tomorrow.

"Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds is a not-for-profit foundation that's been set up and funded by the industry. We provide really tangible, practical resources, tools, campaigns and initiatives to support people working in the sector."
